Earthborn is the annual, juried exhibition of work by members of the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop. This cooperative group, established in 1968, is located in Waterloo Park and occupies the historic Jacob Eby farmhouse, which functions as a work/learn space for members, and a teaching facility for the public. Earthborn was first held in 1976 at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery and has been hosted at various local galleries over the past 39 years.
This year’s show is juried by Angelo di Petta. di Petta is a ceramic artist who has exhibited his work through numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. He has also executed major public commissions in Canada and the United States. di Petta has also shared his knowledge, expertise and experience through workshops and lectures in Canada and the United States. He has been the subject of various articles and his work has been published in numerous books and magazines on ceramics.
