Melissa Strachan, undergraduate exhibitor
July 28 – August 1, 2015
Opening reception Monday 27 July, 5:30pm – 7PM
This exhibition of experimental textiles work explores the theme of interruption. Strachan’s large scale, hand woven pieces are punctured, twisted, spliced, mismatched, restricted and deconstructed with the use of ceramic forms and other integrated materials. Viewers are invited to enter and engage with this meditative exhibition at the Anna Leonowens gallery and to contemplate the significance of interruption in life. Inspired by her recent move to Halifax, Melissa hopes her audience can find comfort in discomfort and are challenged to embrace change through her textile works in this exhibition.
