Born and raised in Chicago, Fritz is a relatively recent transplant to Canada. He first learned woodworking when he apprenticed as a wooden boat builder in Maine.
In this class, we will make a selection of Appalachian-style brooms from scratch as well as discuss a bit about the history of broom making and the materials used to make brooms. Beautiful and useful, you are likely to be surprised by how much more effective a traditional hand-crafted broom is and by how enjoyable it is to use. This class will prepare you with the skills and knowledge to begin making brooms on your own.
